FaceID was first introduced on iPhone X as Apple phased out the home button. The new Face ID technology has become a fixture of iPhones since that time.

  1. Press the side button and the volume up button at the same time.
  2. Quickly release both buttons and the screen will flash.
  3. The screenshot will subsequently appear as a thumbnail in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Tap to open the screenshot or swipe it to disappear.

Where can I find iPhone screenshots on my phone?

Screenshots are stored within the photos app. They should be the most recent on your camera roll. However, if you need to find an older screenshot then screenshots are stored in their own folder. In order to access the Back Tap function, go to “Settings, Accessibility > Touch” and scroll down to the “Back Tap” option.

How to take a screenshot with virtual home button

Back Tap isn’t the only accessibility related feature that can take a screenshot on an iPhone. The virtual home button can be equally be used to perform this function.

The virtual home button can be used to perform a vast number of functions, one of them is to take a screenshot.

Firstly, set up the virtual home button. You can do this in “Settings > Accessibility > AssistiveTouch” and turning this radio button on. The virtual home button will now appear on your screen.

In order to take a screenshot with the virtual home button now enable, you can simply tap it open. Subsequently select “Device” and then tap “More” and now you can press “screenshot” in order to capture the screen.
